This was a commission I was really happy to do because the original photo was really well taken and not the usual portrait style. The photo was taken on the London underground at the start of a journey that would see the sitter travel to Ethiopia with The Red Cross.

I've decided I need to practice portraits a bit more so that when the commissions come along I'm ready for them. Here is the first one. This is a 4 layer stencil sparayed using just 2 cans and varying levels of blending.
As usual it's been too long since my last blog update...check out my Facebook page for more regular updates however in the meantime here are some pictures of 3 of the layers from the big A1 size Schnauzerganda stencil.
A quick update on an unusual commission for a pet portrait. An Obey style poster of Pepper the Schnauzer. Started with a line drawing. Made a few alterations Coloured in the black layer. Here's my desk looking busy, you can see I've started the second layer. Top left is the original brief. Finished colouring in the second layer. Finally scanned the picture above into Photoshop so I could get the outlines and print it off A1 size. Just the cutting and spraying to do now.
Just finished cutting 3 stencils for the City Treasures exhibition. These are of the building opposite St Johns church in the City Centre that used to be O'Neills, I like the curves...
A sneaky look at a 5 layer stencil I'm about to spray for the City Treasures exhibition at Harriets in Peterborough. Tickets are now available for the preview at £6 each. Let me know if you want some.
The stencils below are the back end of Peterborough Cathedral. A few weeks ago I was asked if I'd donate some work to a Help for Heroes auction being held in Peterbough. Obviously I said yes but I didn't have anything suitable so I had to do something new. After much research on the internet I found the perfect image and cut out a 1 layer stencil.
The finished piece had a grey background with a Union Flag painted using transparent black and it ended up raising £165 for the charity. Here is a sneak preview of the next portrait I'm cutting. This picture shows all the layers together but I'll print them separately before beginning to cut.
